Congratulations to Our 2024 Ann Kilian Educator's Scholarship Winner
Dr. Alexa Harrington!
Professor Harrington is a scholar of gender, early America and public history. She was chosen as a Gilder Lehrman national history scholar for undergraduate students. She received her Master of Arts in American History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
She has fourteen years of museum education and interpretation experience and uses these skills in her classroom and in living history demonstrations throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. Her research, which she has presented at several invited talks and conferences, focuses on women and gender from the antebellum period to the late nineteenth century.
Additionally, she works as a public-school teacher at a Title One urban school outside of Boston where she teaches early US history and is pursuing a master's in education in teaching Social Studies through Boston College's Donovan Urban Teaching Scholars program.
Dr. Harrington will be joining us in Atlanta for our 2024 Conference!
