Tish earned her B.A. in History from Greenville, College, Greenville, Illinois in 1986 and her M.A. in History from University of San Diego,
San Diego, California in 1991 and Ph.D. in History from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 2001.  She is currently teaching
as an Associate Professor of History at Metropolitan State College of Denver, Denver, Colorado.   Tish teaches US survey 1865 to the
present, Civil War and Reconstruction, US and Vietnam and Film as Social History.  She is the author of Busy Hands: Images of the
Northern Civil War Effort, Fordham University Press, 2003 and numerous Civil War related articles.  Tish is currently working on
Northern African American soldiers’ aid societies.
