Maureen Sappey is a published author of articles, short stories and novels. Her publishing credits include newspaper and magazine articles, short
sculptress of Abraham Lincoln. This book has won numerous awards including the The National Council for Social Studies and the South Carolina
Young Adult Book Award Nominee.
Maureen is one of eleven children who lived in several states before moving to her mother's birthplace, Western Australia. She later returned to
Maryland, where she attended Salisbury State University. Upon graduation, she joined her family in their new home, Carrigaholt, County Clare, Ireland.
Moving back to Maryland, she taught fifth grade for one year before marrying her husband Steve and "retiring" to Chestertown, MD to write historical
fiction.
Currently, she is working on two manuscripts one set in her Irish village home--a historical fiction novel titled Heart of a Rebel, and a fantasy simply
called Doors. She also finished a novel about the son of Paul Revere called The Silver Soldier.
