Jeanne Christie became interested in the women from the Civil War while doing independent research for the University of had been
at City Point, VA from 1864 to the close of the war in 1865. Jeanne served on the original board of directors for SWCW until moving
back to Connecticut. Currently Jeanne Christie is an Adjunct Professor with the Communication Department at Western Connecticut
State University in Danbury, Connecticut and with Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York.
