CONFERENCE HOTEL
College of William & Mary Ludwell Apartments on Rolfe Road

Rate will be $36 per night per night double occupancy or $50 per person per night single occupancy.
An additional $20 a night for linens


[Linens include: sheets, pillow & case, blanket. 2 towels and 2 washcloths. Beds are single dorm-styled beds with a kitchen but no microwave, service ware or cookware] 

Parking is included.
The rate can be extended 3 days prior and 2 days post conference.
Indicate your housing preference on the registration form. 

 Let us know of any need for ADA accessibility in order for us to make the appropriate accommodations. 
There are other hotel options in the area. We can help you find what accommodates you best.

by Carson O. Hudson, Jr. Carson will relate to us the story of the Civil War at Williamsburg and share with us about the women of Williamsburg and the surrounding area.​

We head off for an all-day adventure, via an air-conditioned motor coach, to the James River Plantations of
Sherwood Forest and Berkley.

​LUNCH PROVIDED

Ms. Sarah Bierle, will speak to us at Berkeley’s Coach House during/after lunch regarding Arabella Barlow, who served aboard ships which landed at Harrison’s Landing. 
 
Berkeley Plantation’s house and Harrison’s Landing will be toured following lunch and Sarah’s lecture.

No trip to Williamsburg is complete without a Tavern Dinner, so we will be treated to a roasted chicken dinner in an authentic tavern 
​in the Colonial area.

during the Civil War

Betsy Estilow will speak on "Let no one pity us or praise us" 
In April 1862 the United States Sanitary Commission undertook a massive campaign to move the sick and wounded soldiers of the Army of the Potomac from the Virginia peninsula formed by the York and James rivers back to the hospitals in the North. This presentation will explore the roles of the women who served aboard these vessels of the Hospital Transport Service.

Adventures
 We encourage you to drive on your own to Yorktown to discover the connections of Yorktown on the York River to the Civil War. Yorktown Battlefield is a National Park where you can walk the historic fields and visit the Civil War cemetery.
​Your tickets from Historic Jamestowne are good for here, too. 

INFORMATION TABLES
 We will have tables available to share local interests or promote events / activities pertaining to Women and the Civil War. 
​Bring pamphlets, program information or handouts to share.
 
SALES TABLES
 We can also have a table available for you if you have anything you would like to sell such as books or handmade items. 

TWILIGHT MADNESS
Search through your treasure trove at home and find something to donate to the SWCW SILENT AUCTION Table.  All proceeds go to support our Scholarship Fund. We may even find a few treasures to use as LIVE AUCTION items.
 Bring your treasures and see SWCW Board Members Mary Louise Daley or Dianne Kauffman on Friday.
